Zhiduo Chen, Ph.D. Candidate, 2019-present

Zhiduo received the B.S degree in Finance (Insurance Actuarial) from Jilin University in 2016. In 2019, she received the M.S. degree in Quantitative Finance and Risk Management from University of Michigan. Her current interests are cognitive diagnostic models, missing data and Bayesian statistics.

Zoe Gibbs McBrides, Ph.D. Candidate, 2020-present

Zoe received both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, USA in 2020. Her current research interests include Bayesian hierarchical modeling, Gaussian processes, mobile health analytics, missing data and applications in actuarial science.

Manjun Yu, Ph.D. Candidate, 2023-present

Manjun received the B.S degree in Insurance from University of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. In 2022, she received the M.S. degree in Applied Statistics from Michigan State University. Her current research interests include Bayesian Inference, variable selection and social network.

Yueqiao Li, Ph.D. Candidate, 2024-present

Yueqiao received the B.S degree in Industrial Engineering from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2017. In 2023, she received the M.S. degree in Biostatistics from University of Connecticut. Her current research interests include Bayesian analysis, Quantile regression, and Tobit model. 

Boming Chen, Ph.D. Student, 2024-present

Boming received the B.S degree in Mathematics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China in 2019. In 2021, he received the M.S. degree in Applied Statistics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, USA.  His current research interests include Markov chain Monte Carlo, semiparametric estimation, and constrained Gaussian Process.

Yuhao Li, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2024

Before received his Ph.D. degree, Yuhao holds a B.S degree from Ohio State University and a M.S. degree from Columbia University. His Ph.D. thesis is "On the Use of Latent Gaussian Processes for Binary Longitudinal Data". He is currently a mathematical reviewer at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, conducting research on missing data analysis and Bayesian trial analysis.

Jingyu Sun, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2023

Before got his Ph.D., Jingyu holds a B.S degree in Mathematiics from Lanzhou University, China in 2017 and a M.S. degree in Statistics from the University of Connecticut. His Ph.D. thesis is about "Cluster Analysis of Dynamic Latent Ability in Item Response Theory Models". Currently, he works at Revolution Medicines as a Statistical scientist in the Clinical pharmacology area.

Yifan Li, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2023

Before got his Ph.D., Yifan received a B.S degree in Statistics from Nanjing University in 2017, followed by an M.S. degree in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018. His Ph.D. thesis is about "Flexible Modeling of Item Responses with Response Times using Bayesian Analysis". Currently, he works as a consultant at Ernst & Young.

Ganchao Wei (魏赣超; wèi gàn chāo) , Ph.D. in Statistics, 2023

Before received his Ph.D. degree, Ganchao got his M.S. degree in Biostatistics from Duke University and B.S. degree in Biological Science from China Agricultural University (CAU). His Ph.D. thesis is about "Bayesian Dynamic Modeling of Neural Spiking Activity". Currently, He is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Statistical Science, Duke University.

Yang Liu, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2019

Before got his Ph.D. degree, Yang received his B.S. degree in Statistics from Zhejiang University in 2014. His Ph.D. thesis is about "Bayesian Item Response Theory: Methods and Applications". After graduation he joined Upstart and currently he works as a research scientist there.

Abhishek Bishoyi, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2017

Before got his Ph.D. degree, Abhishek received his B.S. and M.S. degree in Statistics and Informatics from IIT Kharagpur, India in 2013. His Ph.D. thesis is about "Application of Gaussian Process Priors on Bayesian Regression". He is currently working in Nationwide Insurance as a data scientist.

Abhisek Saha, Ph.D. in Statistics, 2016

Before got his Ph.D. degree, Abhisek received received his B.Stat. (BS) and M.Stat. (MS) from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. His Ph.D. thesis is"Bayesian Analysis of Item Response Theory and its Applications to Longitudinal Education Data". He is currently a postdoctoral visiting fellow in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Branch, NICHD, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA. More information can be found here.

Daniel R. Meskill, B.A. in Statistics, 2021

Daniel worked on "Bayesian Analysis of Item Response Data via a Flexible Power Link" for his honor thesis. He is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in Statistics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, USA. His research interests include latent variables and foundations of statistics.
